Starfish Bioscience featured in Placeco special issue
We're proud to announce that Starfish Bioscience is featured in Placeco's latest special issue. This article looks back at our first financing round of €900,000 completed in February 2024, which is enabling us to develop amicrobial biostimulantdestined for vineyards. This biostimulant aims to reduce the use of chemicals in vineyards, while enhancing the health of soilsand plants.
A project supported by key partners
The support of strategic partners was crucial to the success of this project. In particular, Seventure Partners provided us with key financial support, while Bioaster, a research center specializing in microbiomes, played a central role in exploring and applying microbiota to improve soil health.
"We transform microbiome research into concrete solutions to help winegrowers meet environmental challenges," explains Sandrine Claus, founder of Starfish Bioscience.
This project reflects our commitment to sustainable agriculture, developing innovative, environmentally-friendly solutions. We are convinced that our microbial biostimulant represents a major breakthrough in modern viticulture.
A promising future for sustainable viticulture
Thanks to this funding and collaborations with expert partners, we are determined to continue transforming the wine industry with solutions based on scientific research. This project is just the beginning of an adventure that aims to reduce the environmental footprint of vineyards and promote sustainable viticulture.
